Can we reduce the weight of the train while saving the environment?
The company TES Vsetín, s.r.o. produced and delivered the first in the series of newly developed traction generators. It is a combination of two separate generators on the same shaft used to drive a diesel-electric locomotive and supply the power to control circuits.
Compare to the previous solution, the device has a longer life time, half of the weight and significantly reduces energy consumption for ordinary train service.
The plan is to deliver a total of 20 machine sets by the end of 2024.
