Almost 100 years ago, a small hydropower plant 🌀 was built in Albrechtice nad Orlicí and equipped with three vertical #Francisturbines. Already in 2006, TES VSETÍN s.r.o. Vsetín was chosen by the owner of the plant to replace the existing synchronous generators with asynchronous ones.
Recently, he has approched us again with a requirement for the design and production of a permanent magnet generator that would be fitted in place of one of the worn gears driving the generators.
The turbine shaft and bearings remained original and even the original gear was used as the generator rotor hub.
The generator has an output of 240 kVA at 50 revolutions/min. It is now possible to regulate the speed of the machinery and thereby work at the optimal point of the turbine, thanks to which the machinery produces 📌 10% more electricity compared to the state before the reconstruction. It thus supplies over 📌 600 households.
